After Midnight - Audio Described and Open Captioned
Description
JAN 31–FEB 25, 2024 This electrifying musical revue transports you to the Cotton Club of the Harlem Renaissance, an unparalleled time in New York City when jazz and swing were king. After Midnight intertwines the poetry of Langston Hughes with songs from big-band legends Duke Ellington, Jimmy McHugh, Harold Arlen, Dorothy Fields, and more. The exhilarating score features such hits as “I Can’t Give You Anything but Love,” “Stormy Weather,” “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing.”
Audio description allows patrons who are blind or have low vision to hear a live, objective, and concise description of the action on stage in between dialogue and/or music using an earpiece attached to a small, hand-size transistor. “Sensory Seminars” occur prior to each performance where patrons can receive more detailed descriptions of the costumes, set, and props, as well as feel select items to gain a more tactile experience. Audio description devices may be obtained at the access services window of the box office.

For open-captioned performances, a large digital screen that projects dialogue is placed on the edge of the stage on the left side of the auditorium. Seats for patrons utilizing this service are noted in purple on our seating map.
