MICHAEL McASSEY is a 4 time MAC and BISTRO Award winning entertainer recently heralded by BROADWAY WORLD as “The clown prince of New York cabaret!” They also called him “One of cabaret’s most talented troubadours with the pianistic finesse of Michael Feinstein, smooth phrasing of Tony Bennett and the bawdy wit of Bette Midler!” “Mac” has been a popular member of the New York Piano Bar & Cabaret communities for over 35 years, whether at the piano or standing center stage. In NYC he opened both DON’T TELL MAMA and EIGHTY-EIGHT’S, and he appears regularly at clubs in NYC, Chicago, Provincetown, Puerto Vallarta, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and Atlantic City to name a few. He appeared in Paris with Barbara Cook and Patti LuPone, and toured with Ms. LuPone in her cabaret act THE ARGENTINA TURNER REVUE.

As an actor he made his Broadway debut in LATE NITE COMIC and onstage has co-starred with Andre de Shields in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, Sally Mayes in GYPSY, starred as Edna in 2 companies of HAIRSPRAY and as Max Bialystock in 3 different companies of Mel Brooks’ THE PRODUCERS. An accomplished conductor & music director, Mac divides his time between onstage and off including conducting the Broadway National Tours of AVENUE Q, TITANIC: THE MUSICAL, PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, and working as a Vocal Coach for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, PACE University, NYU, NY Film Academy and The College Audition Conservatory. He also serves on the Board of Directors for MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabaret). For the past three years he has been the music director of the Provincetown Cabaret Festival (June 21-26) and this year also serves as co-producer. (www.michaelmcassey.com)
